Santa Cruz Derby Groms offers opportunities for all junior skaters between the ages of 7 and 17. Our league's team structure is setup as a progression from beginner through advanced. The Grommets training program is specifically tailored for beginners who are learning to skate and roller derby basics. Skaters who are ready to begin full-contact play are drafted to a home team where they learn gameplay strategy and teamwork. The Gromshells and Freaky Fridays are our JRDA charter teams, made up of our most advanced players who compete at the highest level of junior roller derby.
